More Information:
Meeting point: Dominikański Square, in front of the S. Adalbert (Wojciech) Church

Monuments: S. Adalbert Church, S. Joseph Church, S. Christopher Church (Lutheran), Museum of Architecture (old Franciscan Church).

Dominikański Square was one of main settlements in Wrocław before its first location in 1242. It has been changed during the centuries and now only several buildings remember old times. One of them is the dominican chuch of Saint Wojciech. Its first prior was Saint Czeslaw who probably saved the city while it was attacked by Mongols in 1241. Our historian would like to tell more about Dominicans and Franciscans so called mendicant orders, who were important not only for development of Wrocław but have had their convents in most cities around the Europe and player a significant role in its history. Today the old Franciscan church serves as Museum of Architecture. We will also stop at Nowy Targ, that used to be the second center of the city. Nowadays it is hard to recognise its previous role and charm, but there are interesting stories about this place.
